The zine I run, Static Zine, is launching its 11th issue this Sunday, and I’d love for you to come if you live in Toronto!
Static Zine is a twice-yearly DIY magazine that publishes issues on themes. Each page is made by a different person in whatever kind of visual or textual expression that can be on paper. The 11th issue has 24 stories all about bodies, all kinds of bodies. Each story is incredibly powerful and personal. There’s talk of eating disorders, body hair, gender, bones, the word ‘fat,’ trauma, relationships to clothes, food and body art and so much more.
We’ll be picnicking in Christie Pits this Sunday (May 17) from 2-6 to celebrate the issue and bodies! There will be a musical performance by Sasha Chapin, lots of baked goods and a zine table set-up.
You can RSVP to our Facebook event if you feel so inclined. Hope to see you there!
